US chip maker Qualcomm has announced their updated flagship
processor Snapdragon 3. Most of the top 20 Android smartphones will be equipped
with the new processor. Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Realme, Asus, Apos and many
other big brands have announced the use of Qualcomm's new chipset on their
premium smartphones.
Qualcomm showcased a new chipset at a Snapdragon Tech Summit
in Hawaii, USA. The new chip-rich smartphone has also been announced.
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has said that Qualcomm's new
chipset will be seen on their flagship 'Mi 4' smartphone. The new chipset will
be available in the first quarter of next year. Opo has announced the launch of
the new chipset smartphone from January to March next year. Lenovo is also
planning to roll out a new chipset-based smartphone to return to the premium
smartphone market. Realme plans to bring a new Snapdragon 4 chipset based
smartphone.
South Korean company Samsung plans to bring an S-Series
smartphone to Qualcomm's chipset in February next year. This chipset can be
used on Galaxy S4 and 6 Plus models of smartphones.
The new processor includes the Cairo 5 CPU, which is 20
percent faster than the Snapdragon 3 chipset that was released on the market
last year. It also added the new Image Signal Processor (ISP) Spectra 1, which
supports 2 gigapixels per second. This chipset can be used to capture 1K HDR
quality video, 3K quality video or 20 megapixel image.
